Welcome to the agenda for our first ever IATI ‘Virtual Community Exchange’ (VCE), one of two online events taking place in 2021 to bring together the global IATI community. Join IATI’s first VCE on 13 April 2021 to help us consider IATI’s progress vis-à-vis the current state of transparency and open data in the era of the Sustainable Development Goals and COVID-19. During the VCE, you will hear about recent and upcoming IATI activities and how you can participate, be inspired during sessions led by other members of the IATI community and engage with peers in the open data and transparency space. Anyone with an interest in open data, transparency or development cooperation is welcome to join!

The VCE will offer two to three parallel sessions simultaneously, and participants are welcome to attend a session from each time slot, or to ’pick and choose’, only attending sessions that fit their needs. Find out how to get prepared with this one-pager, ‘Getting Ready for the VCE’, or view the comprehensive logistical note for the event.

Questions? Drop us a line at info@iatistandard.org or post in our digital community platform, IATI Connect. We look forward to seeing you virtually on 13 April!

Progress in improving IATI data quality: where are we now?

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

One of the core objectives of the IATI Strategic Plan, approved by IATI’s membership, is to drive a significant improvement in the quality of data published to IATI. This session will provide an update on the work the IATI Secretariat is doing to engage and support IATI publishers in using the IATI Validator and improving the breadth and quality of the data they publish to IATI. It will also seek to share some stories / experiences of publishers working to improve the quality of their data and will briefly mention updates on publishing guidance and plans for understanding specific areas of data quality, with a call to action for publishers to engage and for data users to flag issues with publishers’ data. The session will be an opportunity for data publishers and others to understand how improving their own data quality can support IATI to achieve related goals of increased data use. The session will seek to be interactive and will also feature an in-depth Q&A portion.
